Perspectives in Men’s Health
Description:The goal of the Perspectives in Men’s Health series is to provide health care professionals with necessary information regarding conditions and health issues that affect the male population in order to facilitate more effective diagnosis, treatment and prevention. As male-specific factors influence the provision of and compliance to therapy, tools to ensure effective patient education for men will be provided to increase the likelihood of positive outcomes.

Target Audience
This course is designed for and will benefit physicians and their health care extenders involved in the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of disease in the male population.

Objectives
Upon completion of this course, participants should be able to:

  • Appraise and debate newer therapies for the diagnosis and management of both early and advanced prostate cancer.
  • Discuss the latest available data for the diagnosis, management and treatment of overactive bladder.
  • Recognize newer developments in therapies available for benign prostatic hyperplasia and the importance of early diagnosis and treatment.
  • Discuss the current approaches for managing erectile dysfunction and incontinence following radical prostatectomy and other local prostate cancer treatments.
  • Debate the influence of hormone replacement therapy on well-being, bone mineral density, muscle mass, and frailty in late-onset hypogonadism.

Continuing Education Credit
Grant/Downing Education is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians. Grant/Downing Education designates this educational activity for a maximum of 12.00 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits.™ Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
